In the early morning hours the streets of Northgate in Canterbury, Kent were witness to a usually police chase.

It all started when PCs Matt Jackson and Yasmin Mossasegh saw a white object darting in and out of traffic. Thinking at first that it was a small dog, closer examination revealed it to be a large rabbit.

Concerned for the rabbit’s safety the police attempted to capture the animal, however, all efforts failed. Finally eight concerned members of the public stepped forward to help. The ten-member team were forced to chase the rabbit for an addition two hundred yards, until finally surrounded the rabbit gave himself up to the strong arms of the law.

And strong arms were needed. The rabbit, nicknamed Tiny , weights no less than twenty pounds. Tiny will remain under the care of the RSPCA until his owner is located, or if not, until a new home is found.
